victoria's secret nails!

a few weeks ago i got a phone call informing me that i met the criteria for a research study victoria's secret was holding [i happen to live in the city where limited brands are headquartered, woo!] and of course i said "hell yes!", lol. i got a fifty dollar gift card for about an hour of my time. they asked me a bunch of questions about their website, it wasn't hard and i actually had fun. anyway, of course you know i needed to do cvictoria's secret inspired nails!
my favorite victoria's secret line is PINK, thanks to their bright colors, comfortable clothes, and affordable prices. so that's what inspired these fingers! the pink is sinful colors "pink forever", the letters are china glaze "stone cold" and the glitteris sally hansen "disco ball".

the thumb was inspired by their instantly recognizable bags. i wish i would have used tape instead of my dotting tool buttttt i was really tired and lazy so whatever.
just another shot! so sparkly.

aaand here's another picture of my kitty, since people seemed to enjoy the last one so much :P. he looks so embarrassed. "MMMOOOOOOM, STOP TAKING PICTURES OF ME".

st. patrick's day manicure + my claddagh ring.

st. patrick's day is one of my mom's favorite holidays, because we are very irish [think red hair and freckles!]. so my mom did the whole nine yards: green foods, window clings on all the windows, green shirts, irish music, stepdancers, everything! so this mani was mostly 'cause we're hanging out tomorrow and i knew she'd like it :P.
it's my first attempt at nail art other than dots, and it's just "okay". too bad, but not very good either.

thumb - one coat of sally hansen "going green" topped with one coat of sinful colors "san fransisco". the black is wet 'n' wild "black creme", and the gold is a mix of julep nail parlor's "oscar" and china glaze "ultimate holiday"
pointer finer - one coat of "going green" topped with one coat of "san fransisco".
middle finger - confetti's "wedding white" THIS COLOR IS AWFUL DO NOT EVER BUY IT. took me four coats to get it opaque and even >.<
ring finger: two coats of "orange you glad" by spoiled/wet 'n' wild, topped with one coat of "tanzy" by zoya.
pinky - three coats of "oscar".

my claddagh ring is four years old. i bought it at an irish festival with my mom and haven't taken it off since!

do any of you have fun plans for st. patrick's day? whatever you do, be safe!

opi "dutch ya just love opi?" + china glaze's "luxe & lush"

everyone's probably already seen swatches of the opi holland collection so i decided to switch it up a bit by layering luxe & lush, from the hunger games collection, over it! i think it looks really pretty. girly but hardcore, 'cause i think l&l looks like shards of glass.

also, this is my first time using my lightbox with my new camera. i'm very pleased! these pictures look quite nice. my boyfriend built it for me :].

the hunger games collection - "electrify" and "fast track".

even though i haven't read the hunger games series, i was very excited about the china games collection based off the books. i ordered "electrify", "fast track", "smoke and ashes", and "luxe and lush". the fourth one promises to be my favorite but we'll see!

i'm kind of neutral about "fast track". it's definitely pretty, but it's just kinda...meh. i have "glitzerland" by opi and i like it more + think the formula is better. it took four coats for "fast track" to be opaque :[. if not for the glitter on my ring finger i might have forgotten i was wearing polish today...

"electrify" is really unique and beautiful. i don't know what it's supposed to reference in regards to the books, personally it made me think of gryffindor from the harry potter books :P. application was really good - that's only one coat on my ring finger and it's pretty packed with tiny gold glitters and larger red glitters.

china glaze polishes are available through ulta for seven dollars, and right now they're offering free shipping on orders over 25 dollars with the code "march2day"!
